Remember when I said I loved indie book stores and their clever marketing ideas? Here's another one from Portlandia:

If you are a Fifty Shades fan, this article from imdb might interest you. Actresses who might play Anastasia Steele in the movie.
Emilia Clarke, shown here, seems to be the favorite. Since I haven't read the books, I have no opinion. What about you?

I just got my revisions for the ninth Anna Book, which I think will be called Blood Bonds. Anyway, I'm checking out for the weekend to work on them. I need to add an entire scene of about 10k words so I have my work cut out for me.
I'm sure you have better plans than that. Here down Denver way it's finally starting to thaw out. I had lunch with some good friends this afternoon and believe it or not, I didn't need my parka or gloves!! Did that sun ever feel good! I know it won't be this nice where I'm going tomorrow, but it's just as well. I have to WORK!!!!
Wow. It's hard to believe that you are working on the *ninth* book.
Over here on the other coast, my area actually never got any snow or ice. They say we are due for some this weekend, but I'll believe it when I see it. The past couple of weeks it's been so warm that I have barely needed to wear sleeves. If it hadn't been for the rain I wouldn't have even worn a jacket. Talk about mixed up seasons. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but it still makes you pause a bit.
I suspect this weekend will find me playing games (I'm working my way though inXile's game The Bard's Tale, from 2004, and it is hysterical) and baking cookies.
Leia--the weather has been crazy for everyone. Too cold for us for sure...
Mario--no margaritas...no Old Fashions...no rum cocktails. It's work, work, work for me this weekend. Well, maybe a little beer and maybe a glass or two of wine...but that's it!!
I love Portlandia! And the feminist bookstore owners definitely highlight the sometimes weird, but always "out-of-the-box" thinking required to maintain such an establishment.
Re the 50 Shades movie, ugh, I'm already tired of hearing about it, let alone dealing with the upcoming marketing tidal wave. I confess, I was a 50 Shades reader, but it's only because I was high on the buzz. Really! By page 99 of the 2nd book, I realized, as if via a divine intervention, that the predictable plot, shallow character development, and ridiculous, ongoing angst of the female protagonist had clogged my arteries to the point of stroke. So, I placed all 3 books, the last uncracked, in my Goodwill bag. Buzz kills. Really.
