Welcome to Biting-Edge, a blog shared by authors and vampire experts, Mario Acevedo and Jeanne Stein. We’ll cover urban fantasy, vampires, pop culture, and all things Joss Whedon. Unlike other fantasy blogs, we don’t insist on body cavity searches (unless you ask politely). Snarkiness is most welcome...though we won't promise not to bite back!

  Brain Dead in Denver
Hey friends-- this will be abbreviated because I'm still in a fugue state after last night's signing at the Tattered Cover-- the first for Chosen. It was wonderful-- old friends and new and lots of books walked out the door... well, hopefully they were paid for by the folks walking them out the door but you get the idea. I know there are lots of pictures floating around and I heard a rumor that Tom Lawson took video so when I get a copy I'll share.

I can't express how grateful I am to the loyal fans out there. And to my critique group, Mario, Margie and Tom Lawson, Warren Hammond, Terry Wright and Tamra Monahan who were there to help calm the jitters.

DragonCon is next up. Here's my schedule:

FRIDAY 7:00 PM Mont / VanTrue Blood - From Page To Screen Like the
changes to Sookie's world? Hate them? Come by and share your
thoughts! Jean Marie Ward, Jeanne C. Stein, J F Lewis, Mod: Carol
Malcolm

SATURDAY Signing 11:30 AM

SATURDAY 7:00 PM Mont / Van The Blood Is The Life What is it about the
vampire image that appeals to both practicing and lapsed Catholics?
Rosemary Laurey, Christopher Golden, Jonathan Maberry, Samantha
Sommersby, Mod: Jeanne C. Stein

SATURDAY 8:30 PM Mont / VanVampire Ethics Just because you are undead doesn't mean you have to be unethical - or does it?Raven Hart, Susan Sizemore, Jeanne C. Stein, J F Lewis, Mod: Clay Gilbert

If you're attending-- stop by and say hello. I'm sorry I'm only staying two days this year, but I have more signings and two more conferences coming up in the next three weeks. I'm chalking up a lot of frequent flyer miles.

Next week--it's a local con, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Colorado Gold, and then a signing at the Broadway Book Mall followed by a trip to San Diego and Mysterious Galaxy. See the website if you'd like more details on anything coming up.

Will post pics when I get them. And let me know when you've read Chosen. I want to hear your thoughts.

PS Interview at the ezine Electric Spec is up -- check it out here . Lots of great stuff in this issue.

PPS Another chance to win prizes at Larissa's Bookish Life here .

Have fun at Dragon Con (jealous)

The tot got your postcard. I told her that right now you were only signing in San Diego and she goes "San Diego? But I can't go there!"

Safe travels and congrats on chosen being released. :)

~Suzi and the tot, too

Tell the tot I'll try to get up your way soon!!

XOXO J.

Hi, just a random reader, here... but, recently, i re-read "Many Bloody Returns" and fell back in love with your short story, and your witch. i found your main website, hoping to discover whether or not you had witches [as the witch in the story, with the make-up line and all! she's AWESOME!!!] except... nothing works on that site. i click on "books" and nada, attempt to left click, nada - click on the pics, nada.

same with all the buttons [hence me not using the "contact" page - can't get to it] so i am having to ask here - are there witches in your main series? obviously not as main characters - better question, really, is "are they the same universe?" or something.

hope DragonCon is awesome [it generally is] and that you enjoy it!

thanks

Elizabeth

PS: either way, it's a fantastic story, and thank you for writing!!!
